David's comments regarding step 5

When I first got Karin's sketch for this step, I looked at it immediately, and I came to think of a space invader.
...
For this step, I'll concentrate on completing part 1, which I started on in the last step. A couple of days ago, on a flight from Stockholm to Gothenburg, I wrote the beginning of a melody for the accompaniment. Today, the melody was completed. I recorded a couple of takes on the saxophone, and it fit nicely. So, what to do next? Well, to match the space invader-resemblance I'm thinking of including a sound of something descending, perhaps on the bass.
OK, I edited the beattrack and made a 8-bar interlude and let the bass do a quick decend from a c to a f. I think it'll sound better with a live bassist.
...
Listening to the track again, I think the bass-gimmick works. I added a simple upward-moving sax-melody, accompanied by a kitsch-vibrapattern.
So, that will do for now. The connections to the sketches are 1) the chords comes is derived from a sketch in step 3 and 2) upwards and downwards-moving details resemble the flying saucer.
...
I also tightened up the synth-melody in the intro to part 2. Before, it was way to sloppy.
...
That'll do for this step. I'll publish an excerpt of the new things of part 1 and the corrected part 2. I'll complete part 3 and the interlude in the next step.

Then, I sent the file to Karin.
